The Security Council is one of the main organs of the United Nations, the committee is in charge of maintaining international peace and security.
It consists of 5 permanent member states and 10 member states who are on rotation for a two-year term. Risks continue to arise in our world and the member states need to find new ways to prevent disasters from happening to containing the ones that already trouble the world.

Hi there! I'm Joël and I will be chairing the Security Council of TLVMUN19 alongside Emilia and Srdjan. I'm currently a senior at the University of Lausanne in economics and I plan on working in an NGO after that (which one? No idea… YET). When I'm not drowning in all my work, I enjoy reading, playing basketball, listening to some jazz, scrolling through my Instagram feed (mainly for the memes) or simply go for a walk. I am really looking forward to TLVMUN19 and I'm sure we'll have a blast!
I am a British-Italian second year International Relations student at the University of Turin. My passion for Models was born in May 2018, when I first participated in EU Model Torino, simulation of the European legislative procedure, as part of the Council of the EU. This was the beginning of a series of experiences, such as Zero Hackaton 2018 in Rome, SGMUN and HDMUN. Applying for a charing role in TLVMUN represented for me a big step in order to challenge myself and achieve further skills in the world of diplomacy, and to increase my understanding of its inner dynamics. My biggest interests concern environmental issues, such as climate change and, more generally, the economical and social matters of the countries in the world.
My name is Srdjan Mojic, I am from Serbia. I am an international business and economics student at the WU Vienna. I am a passionate basketball player, I listen to many genres but mostly jazz, RnB, old school rap and country, I am a big fan of movies and going to the cinema. I’ve been introduced to the world of MUN approximately 3 years ago, and since then I’ve participated at 11 conferences in 8 countries. I’ve been a delegate at 9 conferences and chaired at two, won some awards here and there but most importantly met a load of people whom I consider really great friends today.Through MUN I acquired many skills that will for sure be significant later in life. At the fourth conference I participated at I tried the Security Council for the first time and haven't needed to try another committee since. I can't wait to meet all the amazing, talented and interesting people from all over the world at TLVMUN 2019 and have a blast! See you in August!
